The city has reached a tentative contract deal with its correction officers.
As with the other municipal unions, this contract includes a pay hike and increased benefits.
Correction officers will get a more than 8-percent raise for the life of the contract, which runs from 2009 to 2011. They'll also get a retroactive pay raise of 3.5 percent.
At the end of the contract, top pay for officers will be $76,488, compared with the current amount of roughly $68,000.
The rank and file still has to approve the deal.
