Stocks Surge Nearly 900 Points
The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged nearly 900 points Tuesdayas investors picked up stocks that had declined in recent days.
At the close, the Dow was up 889 points at the 9,065 level. It's the second-largest point gain after the 936 jump on October 13th.
The Associated Press is reporting that investors were buying in anticipation that the Federal Reserve will cut its rates by half a percentage point to 1 percent on Wednesday.
