The body of Alejandra Vazquez was found just before 6 a.m. by police.

Authorities say they are questioning the girl's mother and the mother's boyfriend, who were both home at the time.

Neighbors said they were shocked to hear of the girl's death.

"I've got no words," said one local resident. "As I've been saying, I have no words."

"I have kids," said another. "We've lived around here for 16 years, and have never seen anything like this happen yet."

The cause of death has not been determined and, as of Sunday evening, no arrests had been made.

The Administration for Children's Services said it is also investigating.
