Some competitive kitties are giving "cat fighting" a whole new meaning this weekend when it comes to the presidential campaign.

The sixth annual CFA Iams Cat Championship kicked off Saturday at Manhattan's Madison Square Garden. The show features hundreds of show cats from 40 different breeds from all the world competing for the Best of the Best Title.

But the highlight of the show is the Barack Obama "Demo-cat" and John McCain "Republi-cat." The two cats were campaigning for winning the "Purr-fect President" election.

"The boxes are stuffed already. They've loved seeing the cats, the cats have really enjoyed the attention," said breeder Sharon Hauck. "And I just think it's real timely and it's drawing a lot of attention, a lot of fun for everybody."

"I think it's great fun and it gives the children an opportunity to also express their political views... which they get to do in school, but to do it at a cat show is really fun," said show attendee Francisca Heaney.

The results of the election and the other winners will be announced Sunday at 3 p.m. during the Best of Best Show.
