A worker with the Administration from Children's Services told jurors Monday she was satisfied with Nixzmary Brown's living conditions in the period before the seven-year-old girl was abused and left for dead by her parents.
The testimony came during the murder trial of Nixzmary's mother, Nixzaliz Santiago, who is charged in the beating death of the young girl.
Three staffers from the Administration from Children's Services took the stand Monday.
All three were either fired or suspended without pay following Nixzmary's death.
Nixzmary was found dead and badly beaten inside her Brooklyn apartment in January of 2006.
One of the workers testified that although she recommended that Santiago get mental health and grief counseling, she did not find the kids in danger and was satisfied with the conditions in the apartment.
Prosecutors allege Santiago did nothing to help her daughter as she lay beaten and dying on the floor.
Her lawyers are said to be nearing the end of their case, with only one witness slated for tomorrow.
Nixzmary's step father, Cesar Rodriguez, is already serving time for manslaughter in connection with her death.
