A new tower crane rose this weekend at the Upper East Side site of a deadly crane collapse earlier this year.
Crews erected a 14-story tower crane near First Avenue and East 91st Street, where two workers were killed when a crane crashed into an apartment building back on May 30.
Residents are nervous about the new crane.
"I'm petrified. I mean, I’m sitting over here living in fear," said one local.
"Last time any of this happened, I was right on the corner and it was so scary,” said another. “So far, it looks good and I hope this time we're not going to have this problem."
The May crane collapse was the second deadly crane accident in the city this year.
A collapse in Turtle Bay, Manhattan in March killed several people.
The accidents led the city to tighten safety rules surrounding crane use.
