Members of Congress argued the Yankees and the city missed the mark with the team's new stadium Thursday.
The House Oversight and Government Reform Subcommittee criticized the project during a hearing in Washington Thursday.
Ohio Democratic Representative Dennis Kucinich, who heads the subcommittee, said public dollars are being wasted to finance the ballpark.
The Yankees and the city continue to say the team's $1.3 billion home will serve local residents and help the economy.
The hearing came days after Westchester Assemblyman Richard Brodsky issued a report alleging the stadium is not generating as many jobs as promised and is serving only the team's interests, despite using up to $850 million in public funds.
