Two repairmen in Manhattan were rescued this morning after a scaffolding accident left them hanging high over Midtown.

The two workers from Kaplan Glass were dangling about 70 floors up at the residential Metropolitan Towers on 56th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, when their scaffolding stopped. One side remained lower than the other and could not be corrected.

Rescuers pulled them into the building through a window. Neither worker was injured.

The Department of Buildings said it issued a stop work order for the use of the scaffold and issued three work violations to the company and the building owner for failing to supervise the job site correctly.
