The Brooklyn Children's Museum reopened its doors Wednesday for the first time since it underwent a major renovation.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg was on hand for the ribbon cutting ceremony at the city's first green museum.
The grand opening is this weekend, but members can get a sneak preview on Friday.
The museum was a hit with both the mayor and the kids.
"This is one of the most wonderful things," said Bloomberg. "If this doesn't put a smile on your face, I don't know what does. You know, I think this says everything good about New York. The mayor's delivered great weather and you have built a great museum."
"I'm excited about going to the museum, cutting the ribbons, seeing the mayor," said one youngster.
The museum is open Wednesday through Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and on weekends from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $5 per person through November 30th, at which time it will increase to $7.50.
New Yorkers can also buy a museum membership for $60, which gives members free admission for one year.
