A teenage girl is recovering this afternoon from minor injuries she sustained when she was hit by a school bus in the Bronx this morning.

Police say the girl was standing at the intersection of West 233rd Street and Bailey Avenue in Kingsbridge at around 7:30 a.m., when the bus struck her while maneuvering a turn.

"She was about to cross the street, then she hesitated a little, and then she tried to make it past, but she didn't make it," said a witness. "The bus veered to the right, tried to miss her, but unfortunately it caught her and sent her flying through the intersection."

No charges were filed against the driver.
