Red Hook residents are the latest to benefit from relaxed alternate side of the street parking regulations.
Today the city begins the final phase of its plan to replace 8,000 parking signs in several neighborhoods in the borough.
People living in a part of Red Hook bounded by Hamilton Avenue, Smith Street and the waterfront won't have to follow street cleaning restrictions for the next three to four weeks while the Department of Transportation installs 1,400 signs in the neighborhood.
The installations were just completed in parts of Cobble Hill and Carroll Gardens west of Court Street.
The new rules take effect next Monday in those neighborhoods.
