As the Giants kicked off against the Washington Redskins in their home opener, New Yorkers kicked off the NFL season with a free concert in Columbus Circle Thursday afternoon.
Even with the heat, thousands came out for the league-sponsored concert featuring Keith Urban, Natasha Bedingfield and Usher.
"It's a beautiful day, sun shining. We're enjoying the first day of the NFL kickoff. Down here celebrating the Giants victory. They are the New York City Champions," said one concert-goer.
"I'm here to kick off the NFL season and because I love Keith Urban. And the price was right. So I came down to have a good time. It was free!" added another.
"It's excellent. The music's great. It's very hot, but we're having fun. Go Giants!" added a third.
“I’m looking forward to the game tonight more than anything else and the start of the rest of the season on Sunday," added another.
The event also featured a tribute to the Giants for winning Super Bowl XLII.
