The man accused of attacking an elderly woman inside an elevator in Brooklyn was held Friday without bail.

Cornelius Abson was arraigned on robbery charges this morning. Police say he has admitted to attacking Lilian France last week, inside an elevator in a Crown Heights building.

Police have linked him to five attacks since June, and say he is possibly connected to as many as a dozen.

The 85-year-old victim spoke to reporters yesterday. France is recovering at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. Police say Abson wrote France a letter, apologizing for the attack, but France says it doesn't mean anything.

"How can he be sorry when I was the – I understand – the 12th victim?" said France.

Abson was caught after being identified by a detective who arrested him in a similar case six years ago.

He had been released from jail in May.
