Funeral services were held today for a Brooklyn pastor's wife and grandson, who were killed in a car crash in Pennsylvania earlier this month.

Reverend Timothy Wright, his wife, Betty, and their 14-year-old grandson, D.J., were hit head-on while driving July 4th on Interstate 80 in Pennsylvania.

Hundreds turned out at Washington Temple Church of God in Christ this morning for the "Going Home" service. Mrs. Wright served as the co-pastor at Grace Tabernacle alongside her husband.

"In the flesh it is disastrous. In the spirit it is order, it is God’s will,” said Bishop Albert Jamison of Pleasant Grove Tabernacle.

Betty and D.J. Wright's bodies were brought by horse and carriage. During the service, mourners sang gospel songs and gave loving testimonials.

"All the money in the world, all the offerings, that is well and good and we appreciate it. But I would give all of that to have my mother and my son back," said Danny Wright, the son of Betty and the father of D.J.

Timothy Wright is known around the world for his gospel songs, including "Jesus, Jesus, Jesus," which is written by his wife.

"Betty, we're not looking for her. We know where she is," said Jamison. "I always said Betty was Tim's conscience. Betty was the prayer of the family. Tim the singer and the pastor, but Betty was the prayer."

"She is a great person, she’s a great spirit," said Reverend Al Sharpton. "She represented her church and family well. And she wrote some songs, that we will never stop singing."

Gospel singers Donnie McClurkin and Valerie Boyd lent their voices to the choirs.

Reverend Wright, who was badly injured in the crash, was unable to attend the service. He remains hospitalized, on a respirator.
