Serbian officials are promising to cooperate in the case of a college basketball player accused of beating a Brooklyn man into a coma.
Miladin Kovacevic allegedly attacked Brooklyn native Bryan Steinhauer, a fellow student a State University of New York - Binghamton, inside a Binghamton bar in May.
Steinhauer remains in critical condition.
Kovacevic was arrested and put in a Broome County jail for several weeks, before officials say a Serbian diplomat posted his bail, and illegally gave him a passport.
The case made headlines across the city, with many demanding the athlete be sent back to the United States to face charges.
While Serbia's foreign minister pledged cooperation today, he stopped short of saying that Kovacevic would return to the United States.
Serbian officials have asked U.S. authorities to provide them with the full case file, so they can consider the appropriate venue for prosecution.
