A couple involved in a hoax about an abandoned baby left in a cab could walk away without any charges.

Attorneys for Klever Sailema and his girlfriend, Maria Siavichay, have worked out a deal with prosecutors.

If the pair stays out of trouble for the next six months, charges will likely be dropped.

Sailema was hailed as a hero in February when he took his girlfriend's niece to a Queens firehouse, saying a customer had abandoned the six-month-old baby.

Police soon learned the couple made up the story to get rid of the infant because her mother is only 14 years old.

Sailema and Siavichay said at the time they thought they were following the state's Safe Haven Law.

But that law applies only to newborns up to five days old.
