The wife of one of the firefighters who died in last year's fire at the former Deutsche Bank building is suing the city.

Linda Graffagnino announced today that she has filed a wrongful death suit against the Department of Buildings and the Fire Department.

Her husband Joseph Graffagnino was one of two firefighters killed in the fire last August.

The Graffagnino family says they hope the lawsuit will change how construction is governed in the city, and that firefighters and first responders will be better protected.

The city's Law Department says it will review the formal legal papers once it receives them.
