The sale of Snapple on public property, which was originally touted as a big moneymaker for the city, reportedly continues to fall short.

According to the New York Post, the beverage company did not meet its sales target with the city last year, selling 64,000 cases instead of a projected 70,000. Even that goal is much lower than Snapple's initial deal with the city — for a million cases a year.

The paper says officials had to dramatically revise the five-year deal after sales were 93 percent below expectations.
