Flanked by the family of a Queens woman suspected of killing and castrating her father, a local lawmaker urged incest victims to speak out.
State Senator Eric Adams was joined by the family of Brigitte Harris on the steps of City Hall Sunday morning.
Harris was allegedly raped and molested by her father, Eric Goodridge, from the time she was a child.
Adams says communities should not keep sexual abuse in the dark.
"That cancerous sickness, it poisons the entire family,” said Adams. “And if ministers and community leaders are aware of these incidents and remain silent and not turn in the guilty person, then they are in fact participating and co-conspirators in this sick action."
Goodridge's body was found last weekend inside Harris' apartment in the Rockaways.
