A potentially life-saving surgery should not depend on whether or not the patient has health insurance -- that's the idea behind the Breast Treatment Task Force. The Task Force is launching a new program to provide free treatment and surgery to women who might not otherwise be able to be treated for breast cancer.
The New York Mercantile Exchange Foundation is one of the partners in this effort. Its president, Madeline Boyd, spoke to NY1 about this program.
