The Bronx Zoo is celebrating the addition of three rare Maleo chicks to their animal kingdom.
The three chicks were hatched at the zoo after approximately 70 days of incubation.
Other than the bird's native home of Indonesia, the Bronx Zoo is the only place to see the species.
The zoo recreated the endangered bird's habitat, which allowed them to bury their eggs in underground nests.
While the new-born Maleos are not on view to the public yet, six grown birds are on exhibit in the Bronx Zoo’s World of Birds.
