A 10-month-old baby received minor injuries today after his mother apparently committed suicide by falling several stories with the child from their Harlem apartment.

The fall happened just before 3:30 p.m. at a residential building located on West 145th Street and Bradhurst Avenue.

Authorities say the mother held the child in her arms during the fall and cushioned his landing, after which he crawled onto the sidewalk.

The child was brought to Harlem Hospital with only minor lacerations and is now in stable condition.

The woman died at the scene.

Police say the window of the woman's apartment was wide open and there was no sign of a struggle, leading them to believe it was a suicide.
