A man has been indicted on charges of leaving the scene of a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a Brooklyn couple.
The Brooklyn district attorney's office says other indictments could follow for Julio Acevedo.
Prosecutors say on March 3, Acevedo was driving through Williamsburg and crashed into a livery cab that carrying a Brooklyn couple on their way to the hospital.
Nachman Glauber and his pregnant wife Raizy immediately died, and Raizy's baby boy was delivered by cesarean section but died the following day.
NY1 has also learned Acevedo should not have been allowed on the road at the time of the crash.
The Office of Court Administration confirms Justice Michael Gary in the State Supreme Court in Brooklyn was supposed to suspend Acevedo's license after his arraignment on drunk driving charges in February, but did not.
Gary did not suspend the license, even after being reminded in court he was supposed to.
The judge said he did not believe he was mandated to take the license, adding a judge at Acevedo's next scheduled court date could change the ruling.
