NYC Vigils Remember Hugo Chavez's Life

While many mourned the death of Hugo Chavez Friday in Venezuela, many New Yorkers gathered to remember him as well.
Vigils were held in Central Park and Midtown to celebrate the life of the late Venezuelan President.
Attendees said they'd remember Chavez as a man of the people.
"I'm here in honor of Chavez to celebrate his legacy and the wonderful impact he had, not just in Venezuela but the entire region," said one attendee.
"He changed the whole country, the whole Latin America and a lot of places around the world," said a second.
"Many people say that he did something right or wrong," said a third. "I think that you cannot be wrong when you do, when you try to help people."
Meanwhile, representatives from around the world made their way to Caracas, where Chavez is lying in state.
Queens Rep. Gregory Meeks attended the ceremony as the U.S. representative.
Venezuelan Vice President Nicolas Maduro was sworn in Friday as the nation's acting President.
Maduro said Chavez will be embalmed and placed in a glass casket at a mausoleum.
Chavez died Tuesday of a massive heart attack after battling cancer for two years.
