The Manhattan nanny accused of killing two young children in her care appeared before a judge Friday for the first time.
Yoselyn Ortega is charged with First and Second Degree Murder in connection with the October 2012 stabbing.
Lawyers asked for more time to go through Ortega's medical records and are awaiting the results of a psychiatric evaluation.
Lucia "Lulu" Krim, 6, and her 1-year-old brother, Leo, were found in the bathroom of their Upper West Side home.
Prosecutors say Ortega stabbed the children then turned the knife on herself.
She is due back in court on April 5.
