NY1 VIDEO: Malek Hamad, who works at the front desk of Bloomfield's Hilton Garden Inn, knows something of the struggles faced by Hurricane Sandy victims who live in the hotel, as he also lived there after his own home burned down in 2005. Hamad, a Baruch College sophomore, also takes part in fundraisers to battle muscular dystrophy, a disease that claimed three of his siblings, and hopes by sharing his hardships he can help other people overcome theirs.
