Dow Jones Has Highest Closing Since 2007

The Dow Jones Industrial Average reached its highest closing of 14,253.77 Tuesday, surpassing the previous record set before the Great Recession.

Shortly after trading began, the Dow shot past the record close recorded in October 2007, reaching an all-time high of 14,286.37 before settling down to the closing price.

The close is a 125-point rise from Monday's closing price.
