A Bronx man accused of killing and dismembering his mother and putting her body out with the trash was arraigned Thursday on murder and other charges.
Bashid McClean, 23, is being held without bail.
He's charged with second degree murder, as well as criminal possession of a weapon and hindering prosecution.
Police also arrested his friend, William Harris, 26, who police say helped McLean get rid of his mother's body.
He is also being held without bail, after he was arraigned Thursday on charges of hindering prosecution and criminal possession of stolen property.
Sources say Harris told detectives McLean was responsible.
Sources also say they believe McClean may have taken pictures of himself holding up his mother's body parts.
The medical examiner says Tanya Byrd was stabbed to death.
Authorities believe she was dismembered inside her apartment in the Saint Mary's Park Houses off Westchester Avenue.
Her remains were discovered early Tuesday morning.
McLean is due back in court on March 4.
