The parents of Trayvon Martin will be in the city tonight to mark the anniversary of their son's death.
Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin will attend a candlelight vigil in Union Square Park.
A moment of silence is set for 7:17 p.m.
Last March, Martin's parents joined thousands of demonstrators for a gathering at the park.
The unarmed 17-year-old Martin was shot and killed in Sanford, Florida on February 26, 2012 by neighborhood watch leader George Zimmerman.
Zimmerman has pleaded not guilty to second degree murder charges, claiming self defense.
His trial is set for June, though in April a judge will decide if his defense argument is enough for the case to be dismissed.
