An employee of a Manhattan accessories store is facing grand larceny and other charges after he allegedly stole thousands of dollars of high-end merchandise and posted pictures of the items on Facebook.

21-year-old Michael McElroy was arraigned Friday night.

According to the criminal complaint, the owner of Add Accessories found about $16,000 worth of merchandise missing earlier this week.

He then found pictures on McElroy's Facebook account of him holding several of the stolen items.

The owner alleged that when he tried to detain McElroy, McElroy punched him in the face.

McElroy is charged with grand larceny, burglary, assault and possession of stolen property.

He was released after a bail hearing, and is due back in court May 20.
