The man suspected in connection with a string of violent robberies in East Harlem was arraigned Friday in Manhattan.

Jason Commisso, 34, is charged in the violent robbery of a woman of Asian descent in an elevator on January 24.

Sources say seven other violent incidents against other people of Asian descent are also under investigation, and hate crime charges are being considered but have not been filed yet.

Commisso was picked up Monday night on a Greyhound bus on the New Jersey Turnpike.

His bail was set at $75,000 cash.

Police say he has more than 30 prior arrests.
