According to police, Patrick Divers, 51, was on duty with his Brooklyn North Narcotics team in the vicinity of Myrtle Avenue and Nostrand Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant at approximately 10:30 a.m. Friday when he began to have chest pains and convulse.

Police said Divers was transported by his colleagues to Woodhull Medical Center, where he went into cardiac arrest and later died.

The NYPD said Divers was a 25-year veteran of the force who made 1,000 arrests and earned 35 recognitions in his career for his police duty.

The St. John's University graduate is survived by his wife, his daughter and his son.
