A ride on the Staten Island Ferry without fresh air may become a reality.
The Staten Island Advance says that early blueprints of a redesign for the big orange boats do not include outdoor seating and walkways.
The chairman of the Ferry Rider's Committee told the Advance he's confident further drafts will include the feature, which is popular with Staten Islanders and tourists alike.
According to the paper, the preliminary designs also plan a 40 percent reduction in fuel costs.
