Police say Timmothy Montalvo, 16, is facing one charge of second-degree murder and two charges of weapons possession.
Raphael Ward, 16, was shot and killed near the Baruch Houses after what police sources say may have been a fight over his jacket.
Police say Montalvo told investigators he handed the gun to the person who shot Ward.
Authorities are still searching for several other people in connection with the killing and are hoping surveillance video taken in a nearby store will provide clues.
