Two people are in the hospital after they were hit by a bus near the Manhattan Bridge late Monday.

The New York City Police Department says they were struck by a Fung Wah Bus around 11 p.m. at the intersection of Bowery and Canal Street on the Lower East Side.

The victims, a 57-year-old woman and a 63-year-old man, were both taken to Cornell Hospital.

The woman remains in serious condition.

It's unclear what led to the accident.

The driver was issued a summons for failing to yield to pedestrians.
