Police are looking for a man who they say shot and killed a Bronx woman in the city's first reported homicide of 2013.
They are searching for Raymond Mayrant.
Authorities allege that Mayrant, 25, shot and killed Elzina Brown, 59, in Soundview Thursday as she was defending her daughter.
Her daughter was shot in the face but is expected to survive.
Brown worked as a New York City Police Department crossing guard.
