The 12.12.12 concert for Hurricane Sandy relief raised more than $50 million, and now, that money is being put to work.

The Robin Hood Foundation has distributed donations to more than 160 organizations.

Many of the organizations receiving checks are small, grassroots groups.

A $100,000 grant was given to an operation called Rockaway Relief, which aided residents on the flood-ravaged Rockaway peninsula immediately following the storm.
Numerous food pantries and churches also received funds.

The concert was held on December 12, with performances from some of the biggest names in music, including Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones.
