The city Department of Sanitation has decided to extend curbside pickups of Hurricane Sandy debris through January 14, after they were initially supposed to end on Monday.
Since the storm, extra sanitation crews have been out in parts of Staten Island, southern Queens and Brooklyn.
Crews have picked up nearly 400 tons of garbage and debris so far.
