Some homes on Staten Island originally condemned following Hurricane Sandy are being re-categorized upon further review.
Inspectors from the city Department Of Buildings replaced some red stickers with yellow ones on some Midland Beach buildings.
A red sticker means people cannot enter the house safely, while a yellow sticker means people can still have limited access to the damaged structure.
The stickers were placed on the homes during rapid assessments immediately after the storm.
DOB officials say the damage on the houses was not as severe as they thought in the beginning, and in some cases the houses' conditions have improved.
It is unclear how many homes have been re-categorized.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg previously said that DOB officials will work with owners of red-tagged properties to determine whether to demolish or repair those buildings.
