Police confirmed a 41st death caused by Sandy Wednesday, more than a week after the storm ripped through the tri-state area.

Police say William McKeon, 78, died Tuesday night at Jamaica Hospital after being found unconscious, unresponsive and bleeding from the head inside of a building on Shore Front Parkway in Far Rockaway.

McKeon was found at the bottom of an unlit stairwell that was wet and covered with sand, according to police.

The medical examiner determined Wednesday that McKeon's death was related to Sandy.

Meanwhile, another victim of the storm will be laid to rest Thursday.

Friends and family members will attend a funeral for Artur Kasprzak.

The 28-year-old off-duty police officer had taken his family to the attic of their flooded home the day the storm hit.

He then returned to the basement, where he was found dead.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Stanislaus Church on Staten Island.
