Nanny Arrested In Connection With Stabbing Death Of Two Children In UWS Apartment
The 50-year-old nanny accused of killing two children in her care on the Upper West Side last week has been arrested, NYPD officials say.
Yoselyn Ortega was placed under arrest Saturday night in connection with the death of six-year-old Lulu Krim and her brother Leo, who was five days shy of two years old.
Ortega is recuperating at New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she has been under police guard since the double homicide on October 25. She was arrested after a bedside interview with police on Saturday afternoon.
She is accused of stabbing the two children to death in the bathroom of the Krim's West 75th Street apartment, after which she apparently stabbed herself in the neck in an effort to take her own life.
She and the children were discovered by the children's mother when she returned to the apartment with her third child.
