Construction workers will begin the task Saturday of securing a Midtown crane that collapsed during the storm.

Mayor Michael Bloomberg says the operation will start Saturday.

It's expected to take about 36 hours to complete.

The goal is to let people return to their homes and businesses on 57th Street near Sixth Avenue by Monday night.

Officials drafted a plan after carefully inspecting the crane.

Mayor Bloomberg said it'll take another three or four weeks to build another crane next to this one in order to remove damaged parts.
