NY1's parent company Time Warner Cable is doing its part to help the Hurricane Sandy relief efforts.

The company donated $500,000 to the Mayor's Fund to Advance New York City, and $50,000 each to the Red Cross of Northeastern New York and the Red Cross of Northern New Jersey.

Time Warner Cable is also sending out vehicles with mobile charging stations and free WiFi access points, and is opening all its WiFi spots in the city.

New Yorkers can follow @TWCable_NYC on Twitter to find the locations of the power recharging vehicles, and call 212-358-0900 if they see downed cable lines.

Time Warner Cable retail stores on Staten Island and in the Queens Center Mall are also open for device charging.

The company has also opened all content on NY1.com to visitors without having to log in.
