After a year-long renovation, the Statue Of Liberty is set to receive visitors once again inside her crown.
A ceremony is being held this morning to mark the reopening of Lady Liberty's interior.
The project improves visitor access and enhances safety.
There are new access and exit routes, and the stairs leading to the crown were replaced with less steep ones.
People with mobility impairments will also be able to access the observation level for the first time.
The $30 million project was funded mostly with congressional appropriations.
The reopening comes 126 years to the day after the statue was dedicated.
