A small plane crash off the coast of Long Island on Saturday claimed the lives of two men from Queens.
Authorities say Cyril McLavin, a 51-year-old Fresh Meadows resident, and Andrew Messana, a 72-year-old Bayside resident, took off from Spadaro Airport on Saturday afternoon and went down off the Moriches Inlet near Fire Island.
The plane has been recovered.
By Sunday evening, there was no word on who was flying it and federal officials were still investigating.
