New numbers released Thursday indicate that the state's job market is showing some improvement.
According to data released by the New York State Department of Labor, 29,000 private sector jobs were added in September. This brought the total for the year to more than 100,000.
The labor department said these latest numbers meant New York recovered all of the private-sector jobs lost during the recession.
New York City saw a 2.9 percent spike in job growth and unemployment went from 9.9 percent in August to 9.5 percent in September.
Unemployment is down statewide as well.
