Nurses at Lenox Hill Hospital say they are ready to strike, and their union has approved the job action if a new contract cannot be reached by November 1.

Representatives say they have been negotiating with the Upper East Side hospital for months over issues such as changes to their healthcare, training and staffing.

The hospital spokesperson issued a statement saying Lenox Hill officials are disappointed that the union has chosen this approach.

They add there are still two weeks remaining before the current contract expires and that their goal remains a settlement that is fair to the nurses and competitive with other area hospitals.
