Authorities made an arrest at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Monday in connection with an ATM counterfeit scam in Manhattan.
An FBI spokesman says Gene Carlo Pena, 26, was arrested as he was getting off a JetBlue flight from the Dominican Republic.
Police say stacks of phony bills were found in ATMs at Chase bank branches in Midtown.
More than $110,000 in real cash were stolen and replaced with fake bills that were blank on one side.
A person familiar with the investigation says Pena is charged with theft by a bank employee and dealing in counterfeit currency.
