MTA Seeks Candid Thoughts On Upcoming Fare Hike

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority is setting up cameras to allow riders to voice their opinions about the agency's fare hike proposals.
The agency will put up cameras at four locations so riders can sound off without attending one of the MTA's public hearings.
The footage and transcripts will be presented to the MTA board which will vote on a final budget and fare plan in December.
The cameras will be put up at a Lower Manhattan office building, a Metro-North station and two Long Island Rail Road stops.
The MTA is planning to unveil four hike proposals for passengers next month.
Two would keep the base fare the same while raising the price of unlimited cards.
Two others would raise most of the necessary revenue by increasing the base fare to $2.50.
