Writers at the New York Times staged a walkout Monday to protest stalled contract negotiations.
Hundreds marched around the paper's Times Square headquarters.
The paper and the Newspaper Guild are at odds over salary, health care and retirement benefits.
A spokesperson for the paper says the Times is focused on reaching a fair agreement with the Guild, but would not go into specifics.
